🪐 MAJOR TRANSITS:

WHY DO WE CELEBRATE LABOR DAY? 🇺🇸

Celebrated in the United States since 1894, Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer. But why do we celebrate this federal holiday every year? Labor Day was born out of the labor movement in the late 19th century. At the height of the Industrial Revolution in the United States, the average American worked 12-hour days and seven-day weeks in order to eke out a basic living. Despite restrictions in some states, children as young as 5 or 6 toiled in mills, factories and mines across the country, earning a fraction of their adult counterparts’ wages. On September 5, 1882, 10,000 workers took unpaid time off to march from City Hall to Union Square in New York City, holding the first Labor Day parade in U.S. history. On June 28, 1894, President Grover Cleveland made Labor Day a federal holiday, but the true founder of Labor Day has yet to be identified. (all info courtesy History.com)

THE MOON:

🌔 WAXING GIBBOUS MOON IN CAPRICORN ♑️

The week begins with the waxing moon in the practical sign of Capricorn. The moon is in detriment here, disconnecting us from our intuition. We’re more concerned with making logical sense of our emotions rather than feeling them. Over the coming days, the Capricorn moon invites us to slow down and make sure the steps we’re taking now support our long-term plans.

♑️ MOON SQUARE ♈️ JUPITER rx AND ♎️ MERCURY (6º - 7º) 6-7 AM PT

We wake up under a tense T-square between the moon, Jupiter, and Mercury. This creates a surge of energy and a sense of restlessness. We have big ideas about what we can accomplish today and plenty of optimism to back them up. But under the Capricorn moon, our body could be craving slowness and rest. This can cause anxiousness— Make sure not to set expectations too high for yourself today.

♑️ MOON TRINE ♍️ SUN (13º) 5:00 PM PT

We’ll feel confident and content as our three-day weekend winds down. When the moon harmonizes with the sun, our external expression harmonizes with our internal emotions. With this balanced connection in practical earth signs, we’ll feel grounded and accomplished.

♑️ MOON SQUARE ♈️ CHIRON rx (15º) 9:00 PM PT

Irritations or triggers could pop up late tonight as the moon squares Chiron. We tend to be cold (and maybe even harsh) under the Capricorn moon. If anger or discomfort arises, ask what emotion it’s trying to reveal or what lesson it’s trying to teach.

♑️ MOON TRINE ♉️ NORTH NODE (16º) 10:00 PM PT

Any emotions coming up now are aligned with our higher calling. These lessons are lighting the path ahead.

✨ TSJ’S TAKEAWAY:

Happy Labor Day! As we kick up our feet and celebrate the unofficial end of summer, we can tap into a sense of accomplishment under the Capricorn moon. We wake up under a tense T-square with the moon sitting between Jupiter and Mercury, giving us a boost of energy and mental power. But be careful not to set expectations too high today- we can be easily overwhelmed. Our body craves slowness when the moon is in the sign of the sea goat. By the end of this three-day weekend, we’ll feel confident and successful as the moon harmonizes with the sun. This balanced angle helps us get grounded ahead of a new week. But triggers and irritations could pop up before the day is over when the moon squares Chiron. If intense emotions arise, ask what they’re trying to show you. A fortunate connection to the North Node at the same time lights the path ahead.
